LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University wrestling team volunteered recently at the Animal House Adoption Center in Louisville.
The Knights made dog treats and also walked and played with the dogs.
"With so many animals residing in the shelter, it is hard for the workers to keep up with routine walks and playtime, so we wanted to provide some assistance to the organization in maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle for these animals," Bellarmine Coach
Spencer Adams said.
According to its mission statement, "The Department of Animal Services has a fundamental mission to protect public health and safety, ensure the humane treatment of animals and provide quality, professional service to the public. LMAS will serve as an authority in animal welfare by creating and preserving a safe and humane community for both people and animals. LMAS strives to eliminate the euthanasia of adoptable animals in Louisville Metro through education, community engagement, enforcement and leadership efforts."
