LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University women's basketball team took part in a volunteer activity Sept. 24 at Assumption High School in Louisville.
The Knights lent a hand at a Healthy Hoops event, which is put on for elementary-aged kids who have asthma and still enjoy participating in sports. The kids participated in basketball drills and workshops with celebrity athletes and coaches.
The Knights helped direct traffic to the event and greet the participants and their families. They also got to interact with the participants.
"The kids loved hearing about the Bellarmine players' experiences playing college basketball, and the Bellarmine players really enjoyed getting to encourage the young players," SAAC representative
Liza Tibbs said. "Overall the day was a positive one, and the Bellarmine women's basketball team felt like it really made a difference that Saturday morning."
