Knights baseball volunteers at Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University baseball team volunteered recently at the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk held in downtown Louisville. It was the third straight year the Knights participated in the event.

The Knights followed behind the thousands of participants for the entirety of the 5K walk and collected trash. After the event was over, they helped dismantle everything from vending stands and radio station stages to tents, and loaded trucks with equipment. They then helped transport the equipment to a storage facility.

According to the American Cancer Society's webpage, "Every three-five mile Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is a powerful and inspiring opportunity to unite as a community to honor breast cancer survivors, and raise awareness about steps we can take to reduce the risk of getting breast cancer."
