LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University women's soccer team recently completed two service projects.
The Knights ran a clinic for U9-12 girls at the Louisville Soccer Club that included overseeing instructional work and scrimmaging.
"Coaching these kids was a blast," senior
Josie Metzger said. "It was an upbeat atmosphere where we encouraged young athletes to keep up their hard work in pursuit of their dreams. We taught them fundamental skills like passing, dribbling and striking the ball. We were able to coach them as well as answer any questions they have about being a college athlete. The players were motivated and wanted to learn as much as possible."
The Knights also participated in an "I Love to Read" day at Frayser Elementary School.
"I have to say it is always an experience that makes it worth repeating," senior
Hannah Poteet said. "Every time I have been to this event, I have been greeted with such hospitality and the kids are awesome. I can tell how much they love to read when they asked me to read one or two more books to them."
