LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University women's soccer team participated in the "I Love to Read Day" at Frayser Elementary School.
At the event, the Knights read books to elementary school students and spoke to the students about the importance of reading. They emphasized how it has impacted their lives and careers. Additionally, the Knights answered the students' questions and shared with them what it's like to be a collegiate student-athlete.
"This is my second year participating in 'I Love to Read Day.' Both times have been a rewarding experience in the sense that something so simple can brighten their day," junior
Jordan Chlebowy said. "The children welcomed me at the door with hugs, and their enthusiasm was instantly contagious."
"'I Love to Read Day' is one of my favorite activities that we participate in as members of the soccer team," junior
Caroline Lee said. "Not only do we personally inspire the kids, but we are inspired ourselves by the enthusiasm and passion in the kids' eyes."
