Knights baseball volunteers at Kids Center of Pediatric Therapies event

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University baseball team participated recently in a fashion show put on by the Kids Center of Pediatric Therapies.

The Knights helped set up for the event and clean up after it. During the fashion show, they served as escorts for the young models.

"This organization does extraordinary things for these special individuals, and it was an awesome opportunity for us to help them out," junior catcher Chris Gambert said. "This organization particularly has done a lot for my family so to give back to them was the least I could do. The guys on the team had a great time. Every single one of them told me they were glad they did it because they could tell they had an impact on these kids and could see how much it meant to these kids that we were there. To have this opportunity to give back to this organization was truly a blessing."

According to its website, the organization's mission states, "Since 1958, Kids Center for Pediatric Therapies has provided physical, occupational, and speech therapies to special needs children to help them reach their full potential. Kids Center provides these services regardless of the family's ability to afford the cost of care."
