LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Bellarmine University women's soccer team dueled Southern Indiana to a 1-1 tie today in a game that concluded the Great Lakes Valley Conference regular season for both teams.
The tie was good enough for Bellarmine(12-2-1, 10-2-1 GLVC) to finish tied for second in the final GLVC regular season standings. Quincy University holds the tiebreaker over the Knights and will be the 2-seed in the upcoming GLVC postseason tourney. Bellarmine will be the 3-seed and host Drury on Nov. 1.
In today's game, Bellarmine was the aggressor for most of the 110 minutes, but only
Amanda Moore's first period goal made it past Screaming Eagles goalkeeper Stephanie Bodamer. The Knights outshot USI 14-5 on the day and held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Southern Indiana (9-7-3, 7-5-2 GLVC) only got two shots off on goal, but Lavonia Lewis' second period score held up to secure the tie for the visitors. Bodamer finished the day with six saves.
