Daktronics announced today that Bellarmine University soccer players Abby Schuhmann and Lauren Triplett were voted to the Daktronics NCAA Div. II All Midwest region team. Schuhmann earned first team honors while Triplett was named to the second team.
Schuhmann, a sophomore defender, was voted the 2009 Great Lakes Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year earlier this year and was named to All-GLVC 1st team. She also led team in assists during the regular season as well as helped the defense set a new school record for fewest goals allowed in a season.
Triplett, a sophomore midfielder, led the Knights in goals this year and contributed a team-best four game-winners. She was voted to the 2nd Team All GLVC as well as voted Player of Week in the conference the week of Oct. 16th.
The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The team is voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), with voting powered by ATHLETICSITE.COM.
Members of the Midwest Region first team are eligible for the 2009 Daktronics Division II All-America
