INDIANAPOLIS—The Bellarmine University men's tennis team saw its season end on Friday with a 5-0 loss to the 20^th-ranked Drury Panthers in today's Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Tournament's quarterfinal round. The Knights finish 13-10 on the season.

The Drury Panthers came in with the No. 1 seed in the GLVC West and are the top-ranked team in the Midwest Region.  The Knights were ranked No. 10 in the region and were seeded fourth in the GLVC East.

Drury lived up to their billing as they swept the doubles portion and secured the match victory by winning the first two singles matches that finished.  To help speed up play in the tournament, matches are stopped when one team secures the victory.

In stopping the match early, fans were denied seeing the conclusion of an outstanding singles match that pitted the top two ranked players in the region:  Drury's Roman Gonda and Bellarmine's Anton Rabinov.  At the time of the stoppage, Rabinov had a slight lead 5-7, 6-4, 3-1. 

Rabinov and Gonda also squared off in doubles, where the Drury duo of Gonda and Lukas Kriem just edged Rabinov and Igal Mostkov by the score of 9-7.
