Bill Carey

Bill Carey was hired as the new head coach of the Bellarmine University women’s tennis program in June of 2018. The 2018-19 season will be his first leading the team.

Before becoming the head coach of the women's program, Carey assisted the Bellarmine men’s program for two seasons. In addition to that, he was the head coach at Louisville Collegiate School for three seasons, overseeing both the junior varsity and varsity boys’ teams. Over a three-year period, his team grew from 12 to 25 members while improving from the bottom third to the top third in its region.

Carey is a United States Professional Tennis Association-certified teaching professional and a certified provider of Net Generation, which is the official youth tennis of the United States Tennis Association. He serves as a USTA local league coordinator, is on the boards of the USPTA and the Tennis Association of Louisville Kentucky, and works as a teaching professional at the Louisville Tennis Center.

Carey is a native of Charlottesville, Virginia. He earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Virginia Commonwealth University and a master’s degree in jazz composition from DePaul University.
