Student-Athlete Mental Health Services
Bellarmine University Athletics, in partnership with
Norton Sports Health, is dedicated to developing and growing all student-athletes. Research shows that it is common for high-performing athletes to experience heightened stress and feel overwhelmed, frustrated, worried, and sad while also struggling with confidence. Being a college athlete has both protective and risk factors for mental health. Mental health also has a significant impact on a college athlete's performance. By providing interventions and strategies to improve mental health and mental performance, we take a holistic approach to caring for athletes to help them be high-performing in sports and all areas of their lives.
Paula M. Struck, LCSW is a licensed mental health therapist and a registered yoga teacher with Norton Sports Health. Fully integrated into Bellarmine University Athletics, Paula provides mental health care and mental performance training to student-athletes to optimize their performance on and off the field.
