The most recent addition to Bellarmine’s athletic complexes is the newly renovated Wrestling Center. The 16,000 square foot complex located not far from campus on Newburg Road has undergone its first phases of renovation, and now provides the wrestling program with a state-of-the-art practice facility.
The facility comes complete with a spacious, wide-open area outfitted with a competition circle in the center and a practice circle on each side. The players have access to a newly constructed locker room, featuring spacious wood lockers and all the necessary amenities to perform their best.
The first phase of renovation included construction of the locker room, shower room, utility room, restrooms, and additional walls and doorways. Aside from construction, the facility was also outfitted with new flooring in the practice room, upgraded lighting, new HVAC system, repainting of the walls, and new carpet. As renovations continue, the building will eventually be home to locker rooms for cheer, dance, and sprint football teams as well.
