KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — The ninth-ranked Bellarmine University women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2016 season Friday, falling 1-0 in overtime at No. 25 Truman State in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
The Bulldogs (4-0-1, 3-0) scored against the Knights (4-1, 2-1) inside the first minute of overtime on a goal by Kelsey Murphy.
Bellarmine outshot Truman State 9-5 overall, including 3-2 on goal. The Knights didn't allow a shot in the first half and had a 6-4 advantage in shots in the second half.
Truman State goalkeeper Katie Mattingly had three saves in earning the shutout.

Bellarmine plays at 1 p.m. (ET) Sunday at Quincy. The Hawks will be the third-straight opponent Bellarmine faces that earned a berth in the 2015 DII NCAA Tournament.
