WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Bellarmine's Jack Parker (125), Logan Hoskins (141), and Devan Hendricks (165) battled for early wins against Duke, but the Knights dropped three matchups at the Boilermaker Duals on Sunday.
 
Despite the trio of wins against the Blue Devils, the Knights fell 35-10 to Duke, followed by a 33-5 loss to Northern Illinois, and 42-0 loss to Brown.

Parker's 17-7 major decision victory against Logan Agin for Duke was Bellarmine's biggest of the day.  Hoskins took care of business against Patrick Rowland 10-5, which gave the Knights an early 7-3 lead.  Trailing 15-7 when the 165 weight class rolled around, Hendricks pulled Bellarmine closer with a 7-1 win by decision against Brandon LaRue.  BU could not get back on track from there, ultimately dropping its first dual 35-10.
 
"Wrestling is a brutally honest sport. Today we felt all of that," Knights Head Coach Ned Shuck said. "It felt like Murphy's law was in full effect, but the reality is we have a lot to work on. My faith in my guys is unwavering because of their fight. Even with the results being less than favorable, there are many positions that we are making drastic improvements on. Now, we get back to work recognizing the small victories and shoring up our lesser strengths."

Bellarmine's lone points against NIU came courtesy of a win by forfeit for Max Dansereau (133).  The dual with Brown did not produce any points, but Charlie Cadell (285) fought hard in a 3-2 defeat.
 
Parker and Dansereau each captured their second wins of the year, while Hoskins nabbed his first victory.  Hendricks pulled into a tie with Cole Nance (157) and Eric Beck (174) for the most wins on the team with three.
 
The Knights drop to 1-7 on the season and are back in action at The Cougar Clash Invitational hosted by SIU-Edwardsville on Dec. 4.
