RICHMOND, Ky. — Although the Bellarmine University baseball team won its ASUN-opening series against Eastern Kentucky, the Colonels captured the finale 8-0 Sunday at Earle Combs Stadium.
Bellarmine (7-13, 2-1 ASUN) won two of the three games in the series against EKU (8-11, 1-2), triumphing 6-5 on Friday and 15-5 on Saturday.

Will Aubel registered two hits apiece for Bellarmine. The Knights had eight hits but left eight on base in the shutout.
Eastern Kentucky amassed 13 hits and scored two runs in the first, one apiece in the second and fifth and four in the sixth. Six Colonels combined for the shutout on the mound.

Steven Thom, senior right-hander
Ryan Johnson and sophomore right-hander
Webster Walls all pitched 1.0 scoreless inning of relief for the Knights.
Bellarmine will host Eastern Illinois at 2 p.m. (ET) Tuesday.
