LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bellarmine wrestling (13-4, 3-3) suffered another tough loss on Sunday afternoon, this time at the hands of Southern Conference foe Campbell University (11-3, 5-0), falling 36-7 at Knights Hall.
 
"The progress this team is making isn't always obvious to the eye," said Bellarmine head coach Ned Shuck. "I believe in my team and who they are becoming."
 
It was all Campbell to start the dual as the Camels shot out of the gate, winning each of the first five bouts to take a 20-0 lead into the break.
 
Opening the second half with the 165 division, redshirt freshman Grant O'Dell got the Knights on the board, defeating his opponent 14-2 for a major decision and four points for Bellarmine.
 
Junior Cole Nance (174) followed the win by O'Dell with a win of his own, earning a 7-5 decision. Nance battled for nearly three full rounds, never taking a lead until a late takedown in the third period vaulted him over his opponent for the win and a momentum boost for Bellarmine.
 
The wins by O'Dell and Nance would be all the Knights would score as Campbell took the final three bouts of the day.
 
"We have a lot of information we will build on as we prepare for the final stretch of the season," Shuck said. "I know my staff and my men are going to continue attacking their training."
 
Up next, Bellarmine will hit the road again, traveling to Boone, N.C. for another conference dual against Appalachian State University (5-3, 2-1).
