BOONE, N.C. – The Bellarmine University wrestling team dropped its fourth straight dual, falling to Appalachian State 38-6 on Sunday morning.
 
The Knights have faced some fierce competition the last few weeks and have struggled to score in back-to-back weeks. The Mountaineers came out of the gates aggressively and maintained constant pressure on Bellarmine all morning, taking wins in the first nine divisions.
 
"'Almost scores' don't show up on the scoreboard," said head coach Ned Shuck. "We have to execute all the way through our scores if we'd like to turn around the outcomes."
 
Sophomore Thadd Huff scored the only team points for Bellarmine, netting six points via injury default in the heavyweight bout.
 
Bellarmine (13-4, 3-4) will return home for its final regular season matchup this Sunday, February 25, for a dual against Southern Conference opponent University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (10-5, 4-3) at 1 pm E.T. at Knights Hall.
 
"I believe in these guys and know they will continue to grow in their positional discipline in competition," Shuck said. "Let's get fired up for our last home dual!"
