ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The Bellarmine University baseball team was swept by scores of 6-4 and 8-0 by Saint Louis in a Saturday doubleheader at the Billiken Sports Center.
Senior first baseman
AJ Swader led Bellarmine (2-9) in the opener by going 2-for-4 with three RBI. He had a pair of RBI doubles. Sophomore catcher
Mason Acton and freshman outfielder
Cole Huett collected two hits as well, with Huett notching an RBI single in the sixth.
Saint Louis, which swept the three-game series, led 5-1 after three innings before holding off a Bellarmine comeback attempt. Sophomore right-hander
Chase Chamberlain and junior left-hander
Aaron Ragat combined for 3.2 scoreless innings of relief for the Knights.
Bellarmine was shut out for the first time this season in the tail end. Swader was responsible for two of the team's three hits as Saint Louis' Noah Andrunas allowed a single hit in 7.0 scoreless innings. Senior right-hander
Cade Rusch struck out four in 2.0 scoreless innings of relief for the Knights.
Bellarmine will welcome Seton Hall at 2 p.m. (ET) Tuesday in its home debut.
