LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine baseball fell 6-3 to Central Arkansas in Sunday's series finale at Knights Field, as the Bears completed the weekend sweep. 

The Knights came out strong early, striking for two runs in the first inning. Landon Akers led things off with a double before AJ Swader brought him home with an RBI double down the line. Eli Watson followed with a run-scoring double of his own to give Bellarmine a 2-0 advantage after the first inning.  

After a scoreless second, Central Arkansas responded in the middle innings, using a two-run home run in the third to even the score before taking a 3-2 lead in the fourth on another solo shot. 

Bellarmine answered in the sixth inning when Swader delivered again, launching his 10th home run of the season to tie the game at 3-3. The homer moves Swader into a tie for fifth-most home runs in a single season during the program's Division I era.  

With the game level entering the late innings, Central Arkansas was able to take advantage of opportunities, regaining the lead in the eighth on a wild pitch before adding two insurance runs in the ninth to secure the win. 

Akers and Swader each tallied two hits on the day, while Watson also recorded a multi-hit performance and an RBI. 

 Bellarmine returns to Knights Field on Wednesday to host Morehead State at 3 p.m. ET.
