Jaren Brown joined the Bellarmine University baseball staff as a volunteer assistant prior to the 2026 season.

Before arriving at Bellarmine, Brown spent two seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater Texas Southern University in his hometown of Houston. In 2024, he helped guide the Tigers to the SWAC West Division championship after the team posted an 18-6 mark in conference play.

In two years, Brown helped steer Texas Southern to a combined 45 wins, including 33 in SWAC action. The Tigers carried a .611 winning percentage in league play with him in the dugout and ranked 23rd in the nation in stolen bases (127) in 2025 with him as the first-base coach.

Brown has extensive scouting and player development experience. He is the founder and CEO of Up Top Prospects, LLC and been a national team identification series coach and scout for USA Baseball, leading American squads to three gold medals and two silver medals as a national team coach since 2018.

As a player, Brown competed in the junior college ranks his first two years at Galveston (Texas) College before finishing his career at Texas Southern, where he was a starting outfielder. He was an All-District selection at La Porte (Texas) High School.

Brown earned an associate of arts degree from Galveston and a bachelor’s degree in general studies from Texas Southern. He has a wife, Keeli, and two children, daughter Jayda and son Jaren Jr.
