Before joining Bellarmine, Victor Alvarez served as a graduate assistant coach at Campbellsville University, where he was the JV head coach and varsity first-base coach. He assisted with practice planning, game strategy, player development, recruiting, administrative responsibilities, field operations and overall program logistics.
As the JV head coach, Alvarez guided Campbellsville to a tournament championship in the fall of 2025. He also helped develop the program’s outfielders, with two earning Mid-South Conference Gold Glove honors during the 2025 season.
Before Campbellsville, Alvarez served as an assistant coach with the Dubois County Bombers. He worked as the team’s hitting coach and third-base coach while assisting with position-player development and daily administrative responsibilities.
Alvarez also gained leadership and administrative experience as a resident assistant at Oakland City University and as a basketball and fall sports manager at Wabash Valley College. In those roles, he supervised staff, created schedules and assisted with daily operations.
Alvarez earned a Master of Science in management and leadership from Campbellsville and a Bachelor of Science in sports administration from Oakland City. His collegiate baseball career included time at Wabash Valley and Oakland City, and he also participated in state-team competitions and MLB showcases in his native Venezuela.
Alvarez is bilingual and brings experience in coaching, recruiting, player development and sports administration.
