Before joining Bellarmine, Vince Tornincasa served as the head baseball coach at IU Southeast. In his lone season as head coach, Tornincasa led the Grenadiers through one of the most successful stretches in program history.
Under his leadership, IU Southeast captured the River States Conference regular-season and tournament championships, won an NAIA Opening Round championship and advanced to the NAIA World Series. The Grenadiers also climbed to a program-record No. 5 in the national rankings.
Tornincasa was named the River States Conference Coach of the Year and NAIA Regional Coach of the Year and was a finalist for National Coach of the Year.
Tornincasa originally joined IU Southeast in 2025 as the lead assistant coach, recruiting coordinator and hitting coach. The Grenadiers batted .324, recorded a .915 OPS, scored 429 runs and climbed as high as No. 10 in the national rankings. He also worked closely with the infielders, helping develop the RSC Player of the Year, three all-conference selections and three Gold Glove recipients.
Before IU Southeast, Tornincasa coached at the NCAA Division I level with the University of Southern Indiana, where he worked with the Screaming Eagles’ hitters. He previously served as the hitting coach at the University of Illinois Springfield, helping the Prairie Stars bat .313 with 70 home runs and a .414 on-base percentage in 2023. His collegiate coaching experience also includes six seasons at Purdue University Northwest.
A native of Northwest Indiana, Tornincasa was part of three state championship teams at Andrean High School. He won championships as a player in 2009 and 2010 before helping the program capture another title as an assistant coach in 2022. Tornincasa was inducted into the Andrean Baseball Hall of Fame in August 2026.
