Callum Southern-WSOC Assistant Coach

Callum Southern

Bellarmine University soccer alumnus Callum Southern joined the Knights women’s soccer staff as an assistant coach in February of 2026.

Southern was a standout midfielder for the Bellarmine men’s soccer program from 2014-17. He was a four-year starter who appeared in 67 games and racked up 17 goals for the Knights. The native of Stoke-On-Trent, England, was a second-team All-GLVC selection as a senior behind an eight-goal campaign and garnered two Academic All-GLVC citations.

Southern’s introduction to coaching also came at Bellarmine, where he was a graduate assistant under Tim Chastonay during the watershed 2019 men’s season. That year, the Knights went undefeated in the regular season, extended an unbeaten streak that began the previous season to 30 games, won the GLVC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA II Sweet 16.

Southern was the head coach of the St. Xavier High School boys’ freshman team in Louisville from 2022-25 while also serving as a youth head coach with Louisville City FC Academy during that time.

Southern earned a bachelor's degree in sports administration and a master’s degree in digital media from Bellarmine.
