AURORA, Ill. – The Bellarmine University volleyball team won a pair of matches on Saturday, defeating Lake Superior State University in five sets and Cedarville College in straight sets, to finish 3-0 in the 2010 GLVC/GLIAC Crossover Classic.
With the wins, the Knights move to 11-8 on the season. Bellarmine returns to Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Tuesday night with a match against intrastate rival Northern Kentucky University. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Knights Hall.

Emily Beckman notched a career high 23 defensive digs and led all players with 16 kills as the Knights took down the Lakers 25-15, 13-25, 25-12, 20-25, 15-9 in the morning session.
Kaitlan Harris tied her career high set on Friday night with 21 digs. Krista Gibson was the only other Knight with double-digit kills with 15.
Alyson Harmeling finished with 3.5 total blocks, while Bailey BredenbeckCorp delivered 36 assists.

Beckman and Paula Byrns each had 10 kills as the Knights defeated Cedarville 25-20, 25-22, 25-22 in the nightcap.
BredenbeckCorp had 29 assists in the winning effort. Harris and Kaitlin Young each had seven digs to lead Bellarmine.
