AURORA, Ill. – The Bellarmine University Knights volleyball squad defeated Ashland University 3-2 (24-26, 19-25, 25-17, 25-22, 18-16) on Saturday afternoon in their final match of the Mizuno GLVC/GLIAC Crossover tournament. With the win, the Knights finished out the weekend 2-1.
Bellarmine is now 11-7 (5-6 GLVC) on the season. The Knights have only dropped one match in the GLVC/GLIAC Crossover event in the past three years. The GLVC finished the tournament 29-19 against the GLIAC.

Jaclyn Ohlmann sparked the Knights' defense as she set a new Bellarmine record for digs in a match with 38. The previous record holder, Kristina Vocke, racked up 37 digs in 1999 against Hillsdale.
Last week's GLVC/Baden Player of the Week,
Paula Byrns, led Bellarmine's offensive attack with 20 kills. Setter
Bailey BredenbeckCorp registered 51 assists in the win.
Bellarmine returns home to Knights Hall next weekend for more GLVC volleyball action. They face the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday night and Lewis University Saturday afternoon.
