LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The Bellarmine University volleyball team got swept ( 25-23, 25-18, 25-19) by the visiting Missouri-St. Louis Tritons in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match in Knights Hall.
The Knights recorded more kills and digs than the Tritons, but Bellarmine was its own worst enemy by committing twice as many attack errors (21-10) and erred six times on serve.
The Knights'
Margaret Horihan and
Megan Kimbley led all hitters with 13 and 12 kills respectively while UMSL was led by Hannah Miller (11) and Lexi Rogers (10).
Defensively,
Jordyn Kuchenbrod recorded 14 digs for the Knights with Horihan adding 11 and
Phoenix Fowler chipping in 10. Erin Walker led the Tritons with 11.
Missouri St. Louis improved to 13-14 on the season and moved to an even 7-7 in league play. Bellarmine falls to 10-18, 2-12 GLVC.
The Knights return to action Saturday at 3 p.m. as they host Maryville University.
