LOUISVILLE, Ky.- Bellarmine University came up short against the visiting Truman State Bulldogs in tonight's Great Lakes Valley Conference volleyball match in Knights Hall as the visitors pulled out the 3-1 (26-24, 25-21, 18-25, 25-15) victory.

The Knights opened on a strong note racing out to a 5-0 lead in the first set, prompting a Truman State timeout. The Bulldogs were able recollect themselves and eventually drew even at 18-18. They then went on to claim the first set 26-24. In the second set, TSU rolled out to a 21-11 lead before Bellarmine reeled off six in a row to pull within four, but the visitors rebounded in time to close out the game 25-21.
Bellarmine came out after the 10-minute break with renewed energy and claimed set three 25-18.Set four was close until the midway point when the Bulldogs pulled away, converting a 16-13 advantage to a 10-point win.
The Knights hit just .122 for the match while TSU hit at a .236 clip as the Bulldogs recorded three more kills than the hosts (47-44). The Bellarmine offense was paced by freshman
Aurryella Mason with 12 kills and
Margaret Horihan with 10.
Bellarmine falls to an even 6-6 on the year with a 1-2 GLVC mark. The Bulldogs improve to 7-4, 2-1 GLVC.
The Knights return to action Saturday with matches against Quincy and Kentucky Wesleyan.
