EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The visiting Bellarmine University baseball team lost its first two games in Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Friday, falling 12-1 and 4-0 to Southern Indiana.
The Knights (8-10, 0-2 GLVC) struggled to produce any offense against the Screaming Eagles (13-7, 2-0), collecting six hits in the opener and three in the tail end. USI had 21 total hits in the doubleheader.

Cole Metcalfe had two hits apiece for Bellarmine in the first game, while sophomore shortstop
Drew Greenwood and sophomore second baseman
Trevor Lines had one each. Freshman right fielder
Zac Wiley drove in the Knights' lone run with a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning.

Derek Burns tallied one hit apiece in the second game.
Southern Indiana scored 11 of its 12 runs over the first five innings in the opener, including a six-run fifth. The Screaming Eagles scored all four of their runs in the fifth inning in the tail end.
Bellarmine senior left-hander
Austin Warner threw a complete game in the finale.
The two teams will engage in another doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. (ET) Saturday at USI.
