QUINCY, Ill. – After nearly two weeks at home, the Bellarmine University softball team continued their hot streak with a road sweep of Great Lakes Valley Conference opponent Quincy University (13-23, 8-16 GLVC) at Mart Heinen Complex Saturday. The Knights controlled game one, 8-0 with a pair of two-run home runs and the Hawks managing only two hits.
Ally Foster started the scoring with another homer in game two, with
Amy Feie following suit in the top of the third in the 2-0 victory.
The Knights (27-21, 16-8 GLVC) have won 12 of their last 14 games and look to finish strong in their last regular season road trip at Truman State University on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Bellarmine didn't waste any time in the first inning with Foster sending the ball deep over the center field fence just after
Melissa Hammer reached on a throwing error to give the Knights a 2-0 lead.
Quincy and Bellarmine combined for just three base runners until the top of the fifth when Bellarmine's
Megan Bretz drew a walk and
Rachel Fox followed with her first homer of the season that extended the lead to 4-0.
The Hawks couldn't find an answer, and the Knights went back to work in the top of the sixth.
Olivia Russell reached on a fielder's choice and advanced to second on Feie's single to center.
Erica Knollman singled to right field, advanced on the throw, while Russell scored. Bretz's soft line drive to center field knocked in Feie and Knollman for a 7-0 lead.
Quincy went three up and three down in the bottom of the sixth, giving Bellarmine another chance to rack in a final run in the top of the seventh. Foster and
Marlee Tevis drew walks, and a single from Russell loaded the bases as Feie stepped to the plate. Recording her first start since an injury suffered in the 2015 GLVC Championship Tournament, Feie reached on a fielder's choice while Foster ran home.
Madeline Kurtz relived Foster in the circle for the last half inning where the Hawks went three up and three down.
Bretz led the Knights going 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run. Foster followed going 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs. Foster (18-7) picked up the win from the circle, striking out seven batters in six innings pitched.
Game 2 BU 2, QU 0 (

Foster smashed her 15th homer of the season in the top of the first, which brought her within one of Madi Ratliff's school record for home runs in a season. The Knights added to that lead in the top of the third when Feie drilled her first home run of the season over the left field fence.
Starting pitcher Kurtz allowed just one hit over the first five innings, but found herself in a jam in the bottom of the sixth after she surrendered a leadoff single and then hit the next batter. Foster stepped in and allowed another single that loaded the bases. Jackie Farbak lifted a fly ball to short left center field that Fox ran down easily then fired a strike to Foster, who relayed the throw to third to get Emily Hillier out for a double play. The Knights escaped the inning by catching another fly ball.
Quincy was unable to make up the runs difference in the bottom of the seventh, and Bellarmine secured the sweep.
Foster led the Knights going 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Feie went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run. Kurtz recorded the win with Foster picking up her second save of the season.
