LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Bellarmine University's athletic department announced today the creation of a new mobile app designed to spark fan interaction. Developed with the Louisville-based SuperFanU, the new app, called simply BUKnights, is available for both android and iPhone uses and can be downloaded for free at the App Store.
The BUKnights App will allow fans to have "one-click" access to Bellarmine athletic events, live streaming and social media accounts. It also will let users "check in" to sporting events to accumulate points toward rewards such as Bellarmine Knights sportswear. To help more people reap the benefits of the BUKnights App reward system, there will be separate categories for students and non-students.
Other features of the app allow fans to share game day photos and to receive game site weather reports.
"As Bellarmine Athletics continues to expand all of our programs, we felt the BUKnights app would be a great way to enhance the Bellarmine fan experience for students and community members alike," said Bellarmine Director of Athletics
Scott Wiegandt. "We have made great strides in utilizing new technology to broaden the fan experience through the use of webstreaming, live stats and social media in recent years. This new app now provides even easier access to those amenities while also giving us a forum to reward our most loyal fans."
