EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The Bellarmine University men's soccer team struck first, but Division I Evansville scored two unanswered goals to outlast the Knights 2-1 Sunday in an exhibition match at McCutchan Stadium.
It was the first of three exhibition games for Bellarmine, which outshot the Aces 17-12, including 8-6 on frame. The Knights scored in the 25th minute when junior forward
Tomas Bernedo finished in the box off a pass from sophomore midfielder
Greg Fischer.
Evansville's Ryan Harris delivered the equalizer in the 40th minute, and the Aces pushed ahead 2-1 shortly after halftime as Adam Snow scored in the 50th minute. Both goals came off double assists.
Bellarmine continuously put pressure on Evansville in the second half. The Knights attempted 11 shots after the intermission, with six coming on goal. Bellarmine also finished with a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks for the match.
Goalkeeper Matt Bryant collected seven saves for Evansville even while splitting time. Freshman

Andrew Hagan tallied two saves apiece for Bellarmine as each played one half.
The Knights will host Hanover at 7 p.m. (ET) Wednesday.
