LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The Bellarmine volleyball team makes its 2018 home debut this Friday and Saturday as it hosts the Marriott Louisville East Bellarmine Volleyball Kickoff Classic in Knights Hall.
The annual event features five teams each playing two matches per day. The Knights open the tourney at 2 p.m. on Friday against West Virginia Wesleyan (0-0) and return to the court at 7 p.m. to face West Alabama (1-0). The following day, Bellarmine also plays at 2 and 7 p.m. with the opponents being Davenport (2-3) and California of Pennsylvania (3-1).
The Knights are 2-2 so far this season after opening the year at the Ashland Invitational this past Friday and Saturday.
Offensively, freshman
Bailey Roszman leads the Knights with a 3.6 kills per set average while hitting at a team-best .257 percentage. Sophomore
Kristen O'Toole generates the offense as the setter and is dishing out 9.67 assists per game.
As expected, two-time All-American
Jordyn Kuchenbrod heads the Bellarmine defense. The Louisville senior is averaging 6.8 digs per set, which is slightly ahead of her GLVC-leading pace of last season.
