ST. LOUIS — Missouri-St. Louis scored all of its runs in the middle innings and held on for a 9-8 victory over the Bellarmine University baseball team Sunday in Great Lakes Valley Conference play at UMSL Baseball Field.
Missouri-St. Louis (4-13, 3-3 GLVC) took two of three in the series after scoring five runs in the fourth, two in the fifth and two in the sixth against Bellarmine (10-9, 3-3).

Matt Higgins paced Bellarmine's 11-hit attack by going 3 for 5 with three RBIs. Junior third baseman
Deylen Miley added two hits and two RBIs, and senior designated hitter
Alex Phillips chipped in two hits.
Bellarmine took a 4-0 lead after a three-run fourth in which Higgins had an RBI single and Miley a two-run double. However, Missouri-St. Louis responded with a big bottom half in which the Tritons scored five runs on seven hits.
The Knights regained the lead at 7-5 with a three-run fifth in which Higgins delivered a two-run single, but Missouri-St. Louis answered with two runs in the bottom half to tie and two runs in the sixth to grab a 9-7 advantage. Sophomore shortstop
Clayton Mehlbauer lifted a sacrifice fly in the ninth to cut the deficit to 9-8, but with two outs and the tying run on second, the Tritons ended the game with a strikeout.
Bellarmine plays a doubleheader Wednesday at Southern Indiana. First pitch is at 4 p.m. (ET).
