LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In a year where unpredictability has become the norm, the start of the Bellarmine University women's basketball team's first season in Division I has followed this pattern.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Bellarmine will engage in discussions with its first six opponents about the possibility of rescheduling games. Mid-December is the earliest the Knights anticipate being able to play.
Bellarmine's first six games had been comprised of home outings against Western Illinois (Nov. 29) and Ball State (Dec. 13) and road outings against Eastern Kentucky (Nov. 25), Western Kentucky (Dec. 2), Louisville (Dec. 6) and Ohio State (Dec. 10).
"This year has been a trying time for all of us," said Bellarmine Director of Athletics
Scott Wiegandt, "but 2020 has taught us that we have to adapt, and that's what we have to do in this situation. Putting the health and safety of our student-athletes ahead of everything else is the right decision, and hopefully our fans cans adapt along with us."
