LOUISVILLE, Ky.—While the Bellarmine Knights volleyball team steps out of conference for the final time in 2021, the opponent will have ASUN Conference ties when Austin Peay visits Knights Hall for a 6 p.m. contest on Tuesday. The Governors will join the ASUN next year after being members of the OVC since 1962.

Bellarmine is coming off a weekend split with North Alabama and Jacksonville State and enters the APSU contest with a 5-11 record overall.  The Governors are 10-6 on the season but are on a 5-match winning streak after sweeping SIU-Edwardsville twice over the weekend.

The Knights have struggled with injuries this season, but Jayme Scott and Bailey Venard have been healthy and are leading Bellarmine offensively with both averaging better than three kills per set. Defensively, Anna Lococo has played every set for the Knights this season and has been solid in the libero position, averaging 4.19 digs per set, which ranks fourth n the ASUN.  Emily Arnold has assumed the primary setter position and is handing out 8.17 assists per set.

Austin Peay's primary offensive weapon has been Louisville native Brooke Moore.  The outside hitter is putting up 3.37 kills per set and leads the Governors in service aces with 19.  Maggie Keenan also has been a force at the net for the Governors, but mostly on the defensive side, where she's averaging 1.21 blocks per set.  Moore also is a defensive contributor, leading APSU in digs with 167 (2.83/set) this season.
