LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In the first game of a Sunday doubleheader, and second contest in the series, No. 6 Louisville defeated the Bellarmine University baseball team 13-1 at Jim Patterson Stadium.
Senior right-hander
Deylen Miley (0-1) got off to a strong start for the Knights (0-2) after retiring the side in order in the first inning, but Louisville scored three runs in the third and five in the fourth in building a 9-0 lead.
Bellarmine scored its lone run in the ninth. Sophomore pinch hitter
Dylan Byerly scored on a double by freshman pinch hitter
Tommy Dilz for Dilz's first career extra-base hit and RBI.

Clayton Mehlbauer each had a hit for the Knights, while senior left fielder
Chris Gambert smacked his second double of the series.
Louisville outhit Bellarmine 13-4 and had six stolen bases. Adam Elliott (1-0) picked up the win for the Cardinals with 4.0 scoreless innings and just one hit allowed.
