LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Bellarmine University women's soccer team was defeated 4-0 by Kentucky on Sunday night at Wendell & Vickie Bell Soccer Complex.
Bellarmine's seven-game unbeaten streak was snapped by the Wildcats (6-2-2) in the final nonconference game of the season for the Knights (2-1-5).
Kentucky took a 3-0 lead at halftime. Hannah Richardson scored the Wildcats' first two goals, in the 30th and 34th minute, and Miranda Jimenez registered the other in the 37th minute. Maria Olsen added UK's final goal inside the first minute of the second half.
Kentucky finished with a 19-3 advantage in shots while recording all nine of the game's attempts on frame.
Bellarmine opens ASUN play Thursday at Stetson.
"We played a better coached, bigger, faster, stronger, more skillful and more savvy team," Knights Coach
Chris Tinius said. "When that happens, you lose the game, pretty simple. Tip your cap, be glad you made it out healthy and get ready for conference play."
