LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Stetson defeated the Bellarmine women's tennis team 7-0 Thursday afternoon in ASUN action.
With a 19-2 record this season, the Hatters showed why and quickly set the tone in doubles. Bellarmine battled in no. 1 doubles with
Madison Devillez and
Ashley Jonathan, but Nadejda Maslova and Cheri Darley earned a hard-fought 6-4 win. Alanna DiFrancesco and Anna Dovgopolyi earned a 6-1 victory at no. 3 doubles to help capture the team doubles point.
The Hatters also swept in singles. In order, Maslova, Anais Gabriel, Darley, DiFrancesco, Noa Cohen, and Dovgopolyi all claimed wins.
"The team came out and competed hard from first to last point," Knights Head Coach
Brian Slack said. "We have Senior Day on Saturday, and it's going to be tough to say good-bye to four players. Anyone who can came out and support, please do so!"
Bellarmine finishes the season on Sunday with its Senior Day match versus North Florida. The match will take place at Kentucky Country Day beginning at 10:30 a.m.
