CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. — Northern Kentucky bested the Bellarmine University men's tennis team 6-1 on Saturday in Bellarmine's spring season opener in Crestview Hills, Ky.
Freshman
Vineet Ramesh captured Bellarmine's lone point with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Emilio Bravo at no. 5 singles. Ramesh is now a team-best 9-1 in singles during the 2022-23 season, with eight victories coming this fall.
Kyle Tang and
Xavier Ecarma teamed up to beat Tom Berry and Bartosz Losiak 6-4 in no. 1 doubles, but the Knights dropped the no. 2 and no. 3 slots.
Jack Batchelor took Trevor Ball to three sets in no. 2 singles but ultimately fell 3-6, 7-5, 13-11.
Matthew Nice also went three sets at no. 4 singles, but lost to Joseph Zapletal 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (2-0).
Bellarmine's next match is scheduled for Wednesday at Louisville starting at 5:00 p.m.
