CONWAY, Ark. — Central Arkansas scored twice in the first half en route to a 2-0 win over the Bellarmine University women's soccer team Thursday night in ASUN action at the Bill Stephens Track/Soccer Complex.
Central Arkansas (6-6-3, 5-1-1 ASUN) scored in the ninth minute and added another goal in the 44th against Bellarmine (4-5-5, 1-3-3), which had a four-game unbeaten streak snapped.
Tied for second in the ASUN, Central Arkansas got on the board early when Kelly Van Gundy stole a Bellarmine pass a few yards outside of the box and sank an open look from 15 yards.
Near the end of the first half, Bellarmine didn't connect cleanly on a clear attempt off a set piece, and UCA's Megan Moudy capitalized by gathering the ball and ripping in a shot from 30 yards.
Although it didn't locate the net, Bellarmine did generate 11 shot attempts to the nine of Central Arkansas. The Bears had a 5-3 edge on frame.
Bellarmine will play at 2 p.m. (ET) Sunday at North Alabama.
