FLORENCE, Ala. — The Bellarmine University volleyball team swept North Alabama at home earlier this season, but the Lions flipped the script on their home turf Friday night in securing a 3-0 win over the Knights in ASUN action.
North Alabama (15-10, 7-6 ASUN) set the tone for the match with a 25-13 victory in the first set and remained in control over Bellarmine (9-16, 7-6) while securing 25-17 wins in each of the final two frames.
North Alabama posted a .442 hitting percentage compared to .284 for Bellarmine, but the contrast was even sharper from the service line, where the Lions piled up 11 aces to the one of the Knights.
Senior
Bailey Venard led Bellarmine with 11 kills and freshman
Maddie Hagan added seven along with a team-high four blocks. Senior
Macie Garrison collected 21 assists.
Bellarmine will play at 2 p.m. (ET) Sunday at Central Arkansas.
