LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine softball played its first game in the city of Louisville in 2023, and the Knights fell to the Cardinals at Ulmer Stadium by a final score of 13-0.
Louisville (11-4) took control early with seven runs in the first inning, and scored in all four trips to the plate. Bellarmine (1-14) totaled four hits, including two in the first inning, but was unable to plate a run.
Six of Louisville's hits came in its hot first inning, and six of them were singles. The home team had at least two hits and two runs in the second, third, and fourth innings to expand the lead. Paige Geraghty led the Louisville attack with a 3-3 performance and five RBI.

Megan Konermann,
Abbey Nesnidal and
Caitlyn Watson each tallied singles for Bellarmine. Greenwell and Konermann both have hits in each of their last three games, while Watson is three for her last five at the plate.
Claire Lehmkuhler,
Carson Goatley, and
Elli Jensen pitched for Bellarmine, while Cassie Grizzard pitched all five innings for the Cardinals.
Bellarmine opens its home schedule on Friday with a 4:00 p.m. matchup against Valparaiso at Knights Field.
