Box Score LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A historic season for the Bellarmine men's tennis team continues to get better.  The Knights took down in-state foe Eastern Kentucky on Thursday evening by a final score of 5-2, improving to 3-0 in ASUN action.

Bellarmine has showed continuous progress in its transition to Division I, already totaling more conference wins this season than the last two years combined.

In doubles action, Jack Batchelor and Brent Reynolds teamed up at the no. 1 spot for a 6-4 victory.  At no. 2 doubles, Matthew Nice and Xavier Ecarma also earned a 6-4 win.  Eli Wood and Paul Reynolds led their no. 3 doubles match 5-4, but it went unfinished.

With the doubles point under their belt, the Knights carried that momentum into singles.  Nice dropped his first set to Moritz Mayer at no. 1 singles but rallied for a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 win.  Batchelor bested Kristoffer Stahlbrand 6-4, 6-4 at no. 2 singles, and Vineet Ramesh cruised past J. Anurag Reddy 6-0, 6-1 at no. 4 singles.  Xavier Ecarma added a strong 6-3, 6-0 win at no. 6 singles.

Ramesh has now won seven consecutive singles matches in his freshman campaign, while Nice improves to 11-3 in singles play this spring.

With the win, Bellarmine is now 11-1 at home this season with just one home match remaining on March 30th against Queens.

Bellarmine heads to Lipscomb on Sunday for a 3:00 p.m. ET (2:00 p.m. CT) match against the Bisons.
