LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Northern Kentucky broke up a tie with an eight-run ninth inning en route to a 13-6 win over the Bellarmine University baseball team Tuesday at Knights Field.
Junior right fielder
Reed Blaszczyk smacked a game-tying three-run homer in the seventh for Bellarmine (7-18), but Northern Kentucky (13-10) incredibly batted around and scored eight runs on eight hits in the ninth after the first two Norse were retired in the inning.
Bellarmine trailed 3-0 before scoring two runs in the second inning after senior second baseman
Dylan Byerly raced home on a wild pitch and freshman designated hitter
Brady Morse cranked an RBI double.
Northern Kentucky went up 5-2 in the sixth on a two-run homer by Manny Vorhees — the first of his two long balls — but Blaszczyk followed consecutive singles by Morse and senior left fielder
Tommy Dilz to open the seventh with his team-high seventh homer of the season, a three-run shot that knotted it up at 5.
Bellarmine scored its final run in the bottom of the ninth on a sacrifice fly by senior third baseman

Davis Crane had two hits apiece for the Knights, who collected 11 total.
Senior left-hander
Steven Thom fired 2.0 perfect innings for Bellarmine. Senior right-hander
Matt Craven was also strong, fanning three in 1.2 scoreless innings.
Bellarmine will play a three-game ASUN series at Austin Peay State starting with a 7 p.m. (ET) contest Friday.
