Baseball falls in series finale at Lipscomb

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Lipscomb clinched its ASUN series with the Bellarmine University baseball team following an 11-3 win Sunday at Dugan Field.

Lipscomb (21-19, 13-5 ASUN) captured the last two games of the series after Bellarmine (11-29, 6-12) was victorious in the opener. The Bisons opened up a 6-0 lead after a five-run fourth and added two more runs in the fifth and three in the eighth.

Freshman third baseman Brady Morse and senior first baseman Gabe Bratetic launched back-to-back solo homers in the fifth inning for Bellarmine. It was Morse's second long ball of the series, and second of the season. It was also the second round-tripper of the season for Bratetic.

Bellarmine added a run in the ninth on a throwing error following singles by freshman catcher Charlie Rife and senior second baseman Dylan Byerly. Seven Knights had one hit apiece.

Bellarmine will play at 6:30 p.m. (ET) Tuesday at Tennessee.
