JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville completed an ASUN series sweep with a 9-1 victory Sunday over the Bellarmine University baseball team at John Sessions Stadium.
Jacksonville (29-18, 13-11 ASUN) scored three runs apiece in the first and fifth while adding one run each in the three innings in between against Bellarmine (11-37, 6-18).
The Knights scored their lone run in the ninth after freshman shortstop
Luke Scales led off with a single and eventually scored on a fielder's choice off the bat of freshman third baseman
Brady Morse.
Bellarmine accrued only four hits, with senior center fielder
Dylan Byerly collecting two of them. Junior right-hander
Cody Medley tossed 2.0 scoreless innings of relief and sophomore left-hander
Crew Egan added a scoreless frame.
Bellarmine will play at 7 p.m. (ET) Tuesday at Evansville.
