EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Evansville scored a pair of runs in the seventh inning in rallying for a 6-5 win over the Bellarmine University baseball team Tuesday at Charles H. Braun Stadium.
The contest marked the final midweek road game of the season for Bellarmine (11-38), which finished with a 9-7 advantage in hits over Evansville (29-19). The Purple Aces scored three runs in the first on just one hit, but the Knights overcame the rocky start to take a 5-4 lead into the bottom of the seventh.
Evansville had a resurgent inning, as Eric Roberts led off with a single and scored the tying run on a Chase Hug double. Kip Fougerousse drove in the go-ahead run on an RBI single.
Bellarmine had a baserunner erased on a stolen-base attempt in the eighth, and Nate Hardman retired the side in order in ninth in recording his seventh save. The Purple Aces managed to keep the Knights off the board over the final four innings.

Dylan Byerly led off the game with a single and eventually scored on a ground out by sophomore designated hitter
Casey Sorg. The Knights added two more runs in the second when Byerly followed singles by senior catcher

Peyton Back all doubled in the frame, with the latter two two-baggers scoring runs.

Brady Morse steadied Bellarmine with 4.0 effective innings of relief where he allowed only one run. Senior left-hander
Steven Thom tossed 1.1 scoreless innings of relief.
Byerly went 3-for-5 for Bellarmine.
The Knights will host Queens in a three-game ASUN series starting at 2 p.m. (ET) Friday.
