NASHVILLE, Tn. – Bellarmine volleyball came out swinging, but was unable to get much going as the Knights fell 3-0 at Lipscomb on Friday night.
With the loss, Bellarmine moves to 6-15 on the year, 3-8 in ASUN conference matches. The win improves Lipscomb to 12-10 overall, 9-2 in league action.
The Knights played with a lot of energy in the first set, overcoming an early 3-0 deficit. Back-to-back kills by fifth year senior
Addison Foote gave BU its first lead of the set and lead to 6-4 push to maintain a 15-11 lead going into the media timeout. The Knights scored the next two points out of the break, forcing Lipscomb to call a timeout. Bellarmine owned its largest lead of the set up 18-13 but the Bisons wouldn't go down without a fight, rallying for five straight points to even the score at 18-18. The Knights followed with a rally of its own, retaking the lead 21-18. BU maintained control at 22-20 but a late push by Lipscomb turned the Knights rally down as they fell 23-25 in the first. The next two sets we're all Lipscomb as the third ranked team in the league flexed their muscle, downing the Knights 25-9 and 25-12 to wrap up the sweep.

Anna Purichia led Bellarmine on offense with five kills, adding three digs and a kill. Fellow senior
Jayda Harris and sophomore
Erika Smith tallied four kills each with Harris contributing an ace and Smith adding two blocks and a dig. Junior
Kylie Van Hoy made her return to the court after missing the Knights' last match, registering 22 assists and two digs. Grad student
Mara Perry led the defensive effort with eight digs, adding an ace to her line.
Up next, Bellarmine closes out the weekend with another road match, this time in Clarksville, Tn. as the Knights take on Austin Peay on Saturday, November 2 at 5 p.m. ET.
