DeKALB, Ill. — In a highly competitive match, the visiting Bellarmine University women's tennis team was edged 4-3 by Northern Illinois on Saturday.
Bellarmine (3-5) was victorious in three singles contests against NIU (2-2). Sophomore
Vendula Kryslova topped Reagan Welch 6-1, 7-5 at No. 3, junior
Yeva Kramarova took down Jenna Horne 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) at No. 5 and freshman
Nikola Kollaritsch handled Angelica Ross 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6.
Northern Illinois earned the doubles point, but Kryslova and junior
Ekaterina Tikhonko were knotted at 5-all at No. 1 when the match went unfinished.
Bellarmine will host two matches Saturday, welcoming Murray State for a 10 a.m. (ET) contest before facing Tennessee State at 3 p.m.
