RICHMOND, Ky. — Eastern Kentucky defeated the Bellarmine University women's tennis team 5-2 on Sunday in Atlantic Sun Conference play at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
Although Eastern Kentucky (8-11, 1-1 ASUN) won the doubles point, Bellarmine (9-10, 1-2) was in promising position in singles play after taking the first set in five of the six matches, but the Knights collectively couldn't sustain the momentum.
Freshmen
Erica Kanna Hagi and
Nikola Kollaritsch were exceptions at Nos. 3 and 5. Hagi topped Marilou Cote 6-4, 6-1 and Kollaritsch defeated Izem Elif Olcer 6-4, 7-5.
Sophomore
Vendula Kryslova and freshman
Lillie Willis were winning 5-4 at No. 3 doubles when their match went unfinished after EKU secured the doubles point.
Bellarmine will host Stetson at 10 a.m. (ET) next Sunday.
